I hope everyone had an amazing weekend. It has been too hot here in NYC and sometimes it can be hard to still look chic while you’re dripping. I usually tend to reach for more revealing clothes. But for work or a nice dinner, less clothes isn’t really the solution. Raps, vests, or whatever you have in your closet are great for throwing on over tiny summer tops. This way you have less material on you but something airy is covering your skin.
I have a black fringe kimono from Sam Edelman that I posted a few months ago. It’s a lot thicker but I wore it to work ALL of the time…like a little too often. So when I found this white lace shawl on sale at Revolve I knew I would get a lot of use out of it. It’s really light so you can still wear it on extra hot days. Kimonos are meant to give your outfit a relaxed, easy feel. Personally, I still like to have an element in my outfit that’s tight otherwise you could look like a total granny.
Bodysuits are perfect for giving your outfit a clean look and are most flattering with a high-waisted bottom. The bodysuit I’m wearing is completely backless so this kimono was perfect for making my outfit more appropriate but it also added an interesting fashion element. Can’t go wrong with white lace and fringe!
